Matt Smock here, with a belated post on the ELI Annual Meeting: J.D. Phillips and I attended this conference during the first week of February and presented a poster about the Catalysts Project. It was the first poster presentation for either of us on any topic, and we weren’t sure what to expect. Thus we were extraordinarily pleased when our poster station had steady, sometimes heavy, traffic for the majority of the session period. We had great conversations with a variety of faculty and administrators from other institutions, some who are also involved in active learning projects, others who are interested. If we are interested in following up the current project with a multi-institution project, we have a collection of business cards from people we may reach out to.
Apart from our own session, we each attended a variety of other interesting presentations and roundtables. And of course we found time to try some local food. All in all, a very good trip.
