New product – Oxford Art Online

The library is introducing our second new product in the past couple of weeks: Oxford Art Online. Using a similar interface and structure as Oxford Music Online, Oxford Art Online brings together five notable art sources: 

  • Grove Art Online
  • Benezit Dictionary of Artists
  • Encyclopedia of Aesthetics
  • The Oxford Companion to Western Art
  • The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms

Oxford Art Online
 is a complete one-stop source for your art research needs, from prehistory to the present day.  Included are over
  • 45,000 signed articles on every aspect of the visual arts
  •  21,000 biographies of artists, architects, collectors, dealers, theorists, writers, and scholars
  • Coverage of topics such as painting, sculpture, architecture, ceramics,textiles, jewelry, interior design, furniture, glass, metalwork, artists, patrons, places, styles, groups, movements, institutions, museums, and more
  • 40,000 image links to museums, galleries and other art sites

Access to Oxford Art Online is through browsing all entries, or specific biographies, main subjects, or images.  You can also perform keyword searches across all five sources, specific sources, or for images only.  Oxford Art Online is a great addition to Olson Library. Check it out today.
