Minopagwad (It tastes good): Decolonizing Diet Project Cookbook Signing and Reception

As part of the Native Voices: Native Peoples’ Concepts of Health and Illness traveling exhibit, please join us tomorrow (Tuesday March 8th) in the library from 4-6 as we celebrate the release of the Decolonizing Diet Project Cookbook.  Dr. Martin Reinhardt,
April Lindala, and Leora Lancaster will discuss their participation in the Decolonizing Diet Project (DDP).  This will be followed by a food tasting of indigenous Great Lakes foods as well as a book signing.

Martin Reinhardt and April Lindala proudly display the cookbook!

The DDP was year-long experience of 25 voluntary research subjects as they adhered to a diet consisting of 25-100% Indigenous foods from the Great Lakes Region, and an exercise regimen developed in consultation with an exercise science specialist and/or their personal physician.

Information on the project can be found here.
